Silverstar Mining appoints new directors
by Jo Black

Silverstar Mining Corp. has appointed Howard Lahti and Justin L. Rice to its board of directors.
While announcing the appointments, Silverstar CEO Jim MacKenzie, said we are pleased to have two world-class mine-finders join Silverstar’s management team.
Their experience, knowledge and performance in the hard-rock precious metals mining industry will be invaluable to us as we move Silverstar ahead as a strategic player in North American precious metals, added Mr. MacKenzie.
As Chairman and CEO of Coeur d’Alene Mines Corporation, Mr. Rice shepherded the famed Coeur Silver Mine in the Coeur d’Alene Mining District of northern Idaho, and the Coeur-Rochester Mine near Lovelock, Nevada, into production. The Coeur produced silver for two decades at a rate of 2.4-2.6 million ounces per year.
Howard Lahti has worked in various exploration capacities since 1967 by working for Texas Gulf Co, Dresser Minerals Inc, Boliden Preusag, Millennium Gold (Thailand) Ltd, Pancontinental (Canada) Ltd, Barringer Research and Cerro Canada Ltd. He has focused on both precious and industrial metals throughout a career that has taken him around the world, from Canada, to South America, to Africa and Asia.
