Vulcan reports “excellent” results from Kylylahti copper project
by Gill Montia

Vulcan Resources Limited, the Finnish based metals development and exploration company, has announced significant drill results from its Kuhmo Nickel Project in eastern Finland.
The company described results of the Definitive Feasibility Study at the Kylylahti Copper-Cobalt-Nickel Project as “excellent”, with high platinum and palladium grades from drilling at the Hietaharju nickel deposit, which lies around 300 kilometres north of Kylylahti.
The highest values for individual samples obtained from this drilling programme were: 3.11% nickel, 3.55% copper, 21.7 g/t palladium and 4.46 g/t platinum from massive nickel sulphides.
In addition, assay results included an unusual one metre of quartz veined nickel sulphide, which returned 21.7 g/t palladium, 0.45 g/t platinum, 0.74% cobalt and 1.8% nickel.
Kuhmo, which is 95% owned by Vulcan Resources, is a joint venture with Polar Mining Oy. The prospect contains a large number of exploration targets and could become Vulcan’s second development in Finland.
The company already has extensive iron/vanadium/titanium and nickel/copper projects in the north of the country.
