Copper, zinc, tin, lead all see gains
by Elaine Frei

Prices for base metals were mixed on Thursday in slow trade ahead of the Christmas holiday.
Copper gained slightly in both New York and London as stockpiles in London Metal Exchange warehouses dropped 250 tonnes on the session after three consecutive days of gains.
March copper added 1 cent to $2.97 per pound in New York while three-month copper in London gained $15 to $6,530 per tonne.
Other gainers included zinc, which added $2 to $2,310 per tonne, and tin, up $50 to $16,200 per tonne.
Lead was $76 higher to $2,602 per tonne after going as high as $2,675 per tonne on lower output in China and another hike in Chinese interest rates.
Aluminium, on the other hand, fell $21 to $2,407 per tonne while nickel dropped $400 to $26,250.
