Precious metals prices were mixed in early afternoon trade in New York on Friday.
August gold was 50 cents higher to $650.90 per troy ounce, while October platinum had also added 50 cents to $1,286.50 per troy ounce.
On the other hand, September silver was 3 cents lower, trading at $12.47 per troy ounce.
In London trade, copper added 1.6 percent over the week, to close at $7,560 per tonne on Friday on the London Metal Exchange.
The gains came mostly on strikes and threats of strikes in Latin America.
Lead closed at $2,658 per tonne, a gain of 4.6 percent on the week. Lead hit a new record high on Tuesday when it reached $2,730 per tonne.
