Metals prices were mixed in early afternoon trade in New York. Among base metals, September copper traded even at $3.42 per pound.
Meanwhile, among precious metals, August gold was up $1.20 to trade at $659.90 per troy ounce.
July platinum was also higher, gaining $13.50 to $1,299.50 per troy ounce. July silver, however, dropped 3 cents to trade at $13.24 per troy ounce.
