Prices for precious metals were higher on Monday. In early afternoon trade in New York, June gold had added 60 cents to $690.30 per troy ounce, while July sliver was 11 cents higher to $13.64 per troy ounce. June platinum jumped $22.10 to $1.350.90 per troy ounce.
In base metals, July copper was 4 cents lower to $3.72 per pound.
