In metals markets on Thursday morning, aluminium traded at $2,762.5 per tonne after London Metal Exchange inventories rose by 75 tonnes. Copper inventories in LME warehouses, however, were down by another 1,625 tonnes, boosting the price of copper by 3.5 percent to $6,440 per tonne. Nickel, meanwhile, broke another record as it hit $46,160 per tonne before falling back to trade at $45,900 per tonne. Analysts expect that nickel will rise as $50,000 per tonne before the current series of price increases is over.
Gold was at $646.40 per troy ounce in morning trade in London.
