Nickel adds $400 on session

Metals prices were higher on Monday. Gold found its highest price in nine months when it hit $689 per troy ounce during the day, and even though it retreated to trade around $683.20/$683.75 later in the day it still managed to gain more than $1 on the session.
Three-month lead hit a new record high price at $1,950 per tonne during the day, while copper was at its highest level this year, trading for a time at $6,370 per tonne.
Three-month aluminium added $6 and ended at $2,891 per tonne after going as high as $2,902 per tonne at one point during the session. It is currently around $400 below its record high of $3,310.
Nickel added $400 on the session to trade at $41,200 late in the session after going as high as $41,700 during the day. Nickel prices are 21 percent higher than they were at the beginning of the year.
