In the metals markets, old was 1.4 percent lower to $566.10 per troy ounce, while silver fell 0.9 percent to $10.67 per troy ounce. Platinum and palladium were also lower, by 3.2 percent to $1,079 per troy ounce and 2.3 percent to $293 per troy ounce respectively. Prices for base metals were also lower. Copper fell 3.5 percent to $7,080 per tonne. Nickel dropped 1.7 percent to $28,200, while aluminium declined 3.5 percent to $2,475 per tonne.
