In the metal markets on Friday, gold was $1 higher to $624.20 per troy ounce, with no net gain or loss during the week. Silver added 7 cents for the day and 4.5 percent on the week to $12.90 per troy ounce.
Base metals prices were mixed this week. Three-month copper gained $100 this week, to $7,600 per tonne on the London Metal Exchange. Nickel prices, however, fell $750 on the week to $28,650 per tonne.
