Gold, copper prices decline; nickel gains

Metals prices were mixed on Monday. Gold weakened to $584.30/$585.30 per troy ounce, around $3.50 lower than its late quote in New York on Friday. Among base metals, nickel added $450 to $28,100 per tonne on the London Metal Exchange. However, three-month copper fell $45 to $7,500 per tonne.

In the metal markets on Wednesday, gold was higher at $582.40/$583.40 per troy ounce. Prices on base metals, however, were mixed. Three-month copper dropped $65 to $7,210 per tonne and nickel fell $505 to $26,850 per tonne, but aluminium was $8 higher to $2,461 per tonne on the day.
