In the metals markets on Monday copper gained 1.9 percent to $7,170 per tonne on fears of a strike in Chile, at the largest copper mine in the world. Nickel was up 2.2 percent to $24,150 per tonne as London Metal Exchange inventories dropped to only 5,448 tonnes. Zinc stockpiles in LME warehouses were also down again, by 225 tonnes, sending the price of zinc 1.8 percent higher to $3,125 per tonne. Aluminium was up 2 percent to $2,510 per tonne.
