The price of gold in London on Monday was affected by higher oil prices, gaining $1.70 from New York’s closing on Friday to $553.40/$554.30.
The price of oil was pushed up by political unrest in Nigeria that led to attacks against oil production and distribution facilities, kidnappings, and threats to extend the violence to attacks on oil tankers.
