At mid-morning on Friday in London, gold was up from Thursdays close in New York, trading at $558.30/$559.00 per troy ounce. Analysts said that if the price consolidated above $550 per troy ounce, it could mean another upward move in price could be in the offing. They also said that new US trade data, to be released later in the day, would have an effect on where prices will go.
