Gold reached a 3-month peak of $442.10 per troy ounce at one point on Thursday and was trading at around $441.50 late in the day in London.
That was about $4 higher than its Wednesday afternoon price in New York.

Commodities prices trended downward on Wednesday, as gold, copper, aluminium, and crude oil prices all fell.
Gold prices fell to $437.00/$437.70 per troy ounce late in the day in Europe, losing around $4 off of Monday’s 3-month high.

Gold fell $1.85 to $426.90/$427.60 per troy ounce on profit-taking following the easing of fears of inflation in the US.
Copper lost $23 per tonne to $3,254, and zinc was down $16 to $1,262 per tonne.

Metals prices rose on Wednesday on the London Metal Exchange after declines early in the day.
Lead was up $10 to trade at $972.5, as stockpiles of lead in LME registered warehouses reached their lowest level since March 1990 when they fell to 29,700 tonnes.
